  1. It notices movement

    The camera watches for motion and only takes a closer look when something in view moves.

  2. AI figures out what it is

    AI running on the camera itself recognizes people, vehicles, animals and more. Nothing is sent to the cloud to be analyzed.

  3. Your phone gets the alert

    HomeWatch checks your alert rules (which camera, what it saw, what time) and notifies you, even when the app is closed.

  4. A clip is saved for you

    A short clip of what happened is saved on your phone, ready to watch. Snapshots and manual recordings go to Photos.

Privacy and security

Private by design, not by promise.

Most cameras send your footage to a company’s servers. HomeWatch doesn’t. The AI runs on the camera, your video goes to your phone, and there’s no Veilix account for anyone to break into.

When you watch from away, the video is encrypted end to end. Even our servers can’t see it.

Can I buy HomeWatch?

Not yet. HomeWatch is coming soon. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it’s available.

What will it cost?

Prices will be announced at launch. The camera is a one-time purchase with no required subscription. The only paid option is hosted remote viewing, because relaying video costs us money to run.

What do I need?

An iPhone running iOS 17.2 or later and a HomeWatch camera. The app isn’t on the App Store yet.

What can the AI detect?

People, vehicles and animals today, with more on the way in free updates. The AI runs on the camera itself, so your video never has to be uploaded to be analyzed.

Can I watch my cameras away from home?

Yes. The video is encrypted end to end, from your camera to your phone. Most of the time it goes straight there; when a direct connection isn’t possible, our relay passes it along without being able to see it. You can also run the open-source connection software yourself, for free.

Will I get alerts when the app is closed?

Yes. Alerts arrive even when the app is closed, and their details are encrypted so the service that delivers them can’t read them.

Where is my video stored?

On your phone, inside the app. Snapshots and manual recordings are saved to Photos. The camera keeps recent detections and snapshots on its own storage. Nothing is uploaded to Veilix.

What data does Veilix collect?

There’s no account and no analytics in the app, and we never receive your video. To set up remote viewing, our connection service only sees what it needs to connect you, like when a connection happens. This website collects only your email address, if you join the waitlist. It has no analytics or ad trackers.

Can I use it as a baby monitor?

A monitoring-only mode is on the roadmap. HomeWatch is not a medical device and shouldn’t be the only way you monitor a child.

Is it open source?

The software that connects your phone to your camera, Veilix Connect, is open source, so anyone can check that we can’t see your video. The iPhone app is closed source.
